SUMMARY OF TASKS:

Reporting to the Plant Accountant, this position has an integral role on the Plant Accounting team with direct responsibility for the analysis and evaluation of Plant accounting transactions and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze, investigate and evaluate accounting transactions & reports to ensure accurate reporting;
• Make recommendations for improvement to transaction entry & reporting processes based on analysis;
• Weekly reporting of Plant profit & loss forecasts and other activity management reports;
• Provide support for the Plant Accounting team in other areas as required;
• Provide support for continuous & process improvement and other team development initiatives;
• Assist with inventory control, analysis and reporting;
• Assist with period-end / year-end close, reporting and budgeting;
• Create ad-hoc reports as required;
• Other assigned duties and projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a university degree or business diploma in accounting or a related field;
• Demonstrated upward mobility in career progression and in the process of actively pursuing a professional accounting designation (CMA / CGA / CA) is an asset;
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a production environment;
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office applications;
• Knowledge and experience of SAP is an asset;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
• Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess a high degree of initiative, work well under pressure;
• Demonstrated proficiency and dependability in current position.
